How we compare
As per the government advice website Money smart, when you're comparing super funds, weigh up fund performance and the fees you'll pay against other factors such as risk, investment returns, services, and insurance.
So how do we compare on each of these parameters?
Super is a long-term investment, and over the long term our performance is strong.*
We’re a top-performing super fund, with investment options returns above the industry average.
Most of our members are invested in the MySuper option which is placed in the top quartile of super funds assessed over 5, 7 and 10 years, and has delivered an average return of 8.14% p.a. for the 10 years to 30 June 2020.*
Our other investment options- Managed Growth, Australian shares, and Property have also delivered above-average returns measured against the SuperRatings Index, placing us in the top quartile over a 5, 7, and 10 year period.
When you’re comparing fees it’s important to consider the whole picture, i.e., how has your investment performed? What are its returns, less any fees and taxes? What other services are you paying for? Do you have insurance in your super?
There are many factors to be considered, especially investment performance. Lower fees don’t necessarily mean a better outcome if your investment hasn’t performed well.
As a fully independent, profit-to-members super fund, our fees are competitive; designed to meet the cost of fund operations, and not to maximise profit.
See our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Member Guide to learn more about our fees and costs.
Insurance is an important part of your super.
As a member of Prime Super, you can access Death Only, Death & Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Terminal Illness, and Income Protection insurance at competitive rates which can be tailored to suit your individual needs.
See our Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Member Guide to learn more about our insurance offering.
When it comes to investing, there’s no one size fits all solution. That’s because everyone has their own risk appetite, investment timeframe, and financial objectives for their retirement.
At Prime Super, we offer you the choice and flexibility of 11 different investment options. You can choose any combination of investment options and you can change your options at any time.***
Please refer to the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and Member Guide for more information about our investment options.
We are an independent, profit-to-member, Australian super fund with strong member bases in agriculture, health and aged care, recruitment and education.
We’re an open fund for all Australians, young and old, rural and urban.
As part of our commitment to serving you, we use our Australia-wide network of member and employer consultants and experienced call centre team to provide personal service and support.
Our objective is to work responsibly, in the best interests of members, to build their retirement savings and provide exceptional service.
*Please note that past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance.
