Prime Super launches online insurance claim capability
Prime Super just launched an online claims process that allows members to initiate and follow their insurance claims from the initial application to the conclusion of the claims process.
Prime Super Chief Executive Officer, Lachlan Baird said, ‘By moving the complete process online, claims should progress more quickly and reduce stress for the member claiming or their family claiming on their behalf.’
Now that Prime Super’s members can undertake the full process online from the secure Prime Super MemberOnline website it is expected that the time to process and assess a claim could be reduced significantly.
Lachlan Baird said, ‘We are delighted to be able to offer this service for our members. If they are ever in the position of having to make an insurance claim we understand that this can cause stress to what is already a challenging time.
‘So we have developed this product in conjunction with our insurer CommInsure that takes a lot of the stress away. The member or family member will be able to track the progress of their claim and quickly provide any extra information that is required to progress the claim.
‘Prime Super’s member services team will also continue to monitor all claims and assist members when required. Our members will have the best service possible and can be confident that they will be able to get an accurate update of the status of their claim at any time they choose.’
To provide the full service model for members. Prime Super has retained the traditional method of claims initiation and processing where appropriate.
Lachlan Baird said, ‘Members are not disadvantaged by the traditional process but the great innovation of Prime Super’s new product is the potential speed of processing and being able to track progress.’

About the Prime Super digital claims portal
The Prime Super digital claims portal, accessible via Prime Super Member Online services, is an online application giving Members access to claim services for Income Protection, Total & Permanent Disability and Terminal Illness Claims 24 hours a day.
Information captured within the digital claims portal will be available to Prime Super’s insurer, CommInsure, within a few minutes of either completing a claim request, updating personal information or uploading claim requirements. Within the portal, a Member can:
- Submit new claim requests
- Have their cover confirmed for a new claim request immediately (please note, this cover confirmation is provided based on the date provided by the Member and is subject to assessment)
- View contact details for Prime Super
- View contact details for Prime Super’s insurer, CommInsure (once a claim request has been submitted)
- Download claim requirement forms (such as the Medical Attendant’s Statement)
- Upload completed forms (the Insurer will receive uploads within a few minutes of successful upload)
- Upload any other information that is relevant to the claim
- View benefit payment history (Income Protection claims only)
