As the super fund of choice for rural and regional Australians, we understand better than most the issues our members face.
We are the proud sponsor of the Lifeline Information Service – a self help resource for promoting mental health awareness, help seeking and suicide prevention.
To support our regional membership, and help address the high incidence of suicide in rural and regional areas, we have partnered with Lifeline to promote mental health awareness and emotional wellbeing and suicide awareness and prevention activities.
The Lifeline Information Service is able to link callers to information, services, support groups and online resources. The service provides information and referral for people with mental health problems, and to friends, relatives and others who want to know how to help.
The Lifeline Information Service offers a range of informative tool kits which provide practical tips and self-help strategies to help prevent and respond to a number of issues. These toolkits are available in hard copy by phoning 1300 13 11 14 or for download from Lifeline.
The toolkits cover a range of topics, including:
Helping children cope after a natural disaster.
Helping someone at risk of suicide.
Panic attacks.
Carers of people with mental illness.
Coping with sorrow, loss and grief.
Suicide prevention for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders.
Domestic violence.
Men experiencing difficult times.
Getting through floods, drought and extreme climate events.
Lifeline is Australia’s largest emotional and mental health support service provider.
